DEVOPS 2017 – VIP WORKSHOP
In this VIP session we will go over several of the important topics you want to consider when defining your DevOps transformation strategy. We will walk you through a model for mapping out your own strategy that helps connect it to delivering business value and discuss how this model can be adjusted to fit the needs of your organization. In the workshop you will also have a chance to meet other industry leaders and peers who are pushing ahead with their own DevOps initiatives and share ideas that can help you build upon your current DevOps strategy. Where is DevOps today and what is driving us to want more?
In this section we will cover some of the current perceptions surrounding DevOps and look at what areas that are working well for companies and where many are still struggling to implement DevOps. We will also look at what what is driving our own organizations to do more and discuss how some are currently approaching the challenge.
Evaluating your core challenges
In this section we will discuss some of the more common challenges seen with implementing DevOps transformations and how to uncover where your organization is doing well and where gaps still exist.
Connecting the need to the delivery of business value
In this section we will discuss how business value delivered from DevOps transformation can be defined and also discuss how your particular organization can connect strategy goals to specific business value targets.
Building a strategy
In this section we will go through a model that will guide you through the key steps in preparing and evaluating the critical path for your specific DevOps strategy. The session is broken into several chunks that relate to the different aspects of implementing DevOps models, such as preparation, technical assessment, processes assessment, establishing good habits and behaviour modelling.
Should there be a “Devops team”?
In this section we will discuss one of the most discussed questions related to DevOps and how it is implemented in any organization. Is there such as thing as a ‘DevOps team’?…and if so, how does that support your transformation.
Enablers vs. Outcomers
In this section we will discuss how to differentiate between enablers that support DevOps and outcomes that demonstrate your DevOps transformation is progressing. We will also discuss how improvements made to your DevOps enablers can lead to the desired outcomes in the end.
